A hit in the sky for Svitolina
It’s not everyday that you get to play tennis in the sky, but that’s exactly what Elina Svitolina did on Monday at the GSB Thailand Open presented by E@.
The World No.4 travelled twenty-seven floors up to the Vana Nava Sky Bar at the Holiday Inn Vana Nava Resort in Hua Hin for a match-up with the former deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Chairman of the Thailand Open Organising Committee Mr Suwat Liptapanlop.
Playing on a glass floor over 110 metres up didn’t phase the Ukrainian who put Mr Liptapanlop, a keen player himself, through his paces.
Following the hit Svitolina commented on the unique setting:
“It’s amazing, we’re at the top of Hua Hin here and I’m very excited to be back in Thailand. It’s the first time for me to be here to play the tournament, before it was for holidays. The venue and the city looks amazing so I’m really looking forward to playing here.”
