WTA players bring tennis fun and support breast cancer awareness ahead of Thailand Open 2020

WTA players Yafan Wang and Chloe Pacquet visited a disadvantaged community in Bangkok to bring tennis fun to children and at the same time raise awareness of breast cancer screening for women.

Wang and Paquet are in Thailand ahead of the GSB Thailand Open 2020 presented by E@ which will take place in the beach resort if Hua Hin from 8-16 February 2020.

The WTA International level event is working with the Queen SiriKit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness of breast cancer screening which can help to save lives.

In Bangkok the players visited a disadvantaged community where they took part in tennis clinics and fun activities with children in the community whilst their mothers were informed about the risks of breast cancer and the benefits of early screening.  Over 100 women registered with the QSCBC Foundation, an action that could help to directly save lives in the future.

The lucky children will also have an opportunity to visit Hua Hin on 8th February, a chance for some of them to visit the beach for the first time.  In Hua Hin they will visit the tournament and also have a fun outing to the Vana Nava Water Park, located next to the official tournament hotel, the Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava Hua Hin.

Unfortunately defending champion Dayana Yastremska has withdrawn from the GSB Thailand Open 2020 presented by E@ due to a schedule change.  However World No.15 Petra Martic will join the event and arrived in Bangkok today to spend the week practicing in Hua Hin.
